Product telemetry

What the app records about its use, when telemetry is enabled.

Markdown

The app at app.otherspace.ai doesn’t send these events for now: its telemetry is off.

When product telemetry is enabled for an environment, the app sends a small set of events to PostHog (EU Cloud):

  • Page view: the page’s address without its query string or fragment.
  • Account events: an account was created, an email address was confirmed, someone signed in or signed out, a password was reset, or one of these steps failed. A failure records only which step it was and whether it was rejected, a server error or a network error.
  • Errors: application errors, server errors and network failures, with the HTTP status and the API route where there is one.
  • Getting started: a Canvas was opened, and whether it was empty; on an empty Canvas, which way to begin was chosen (Create an image, Create a video or Add a reference).

Sent by the service

Some events are recorded by Otherspace’s servers, whatever the app sends, when product telemetry is enabled for the service:

  • Getting started: your first Workspace, Space and Canvas were set up (with their internal identifiers); a Canvas was made, and whether in a Space or in Drafts; something was said to the Assistant; an image or video was uploaded; a Workspace invitation was accepted (with the Workspace’s internal identifier).
  • Generations: an image or video was asked for, started, retried, finished or failed, with the model, the provider, how long it took, what it cost and the size of what was made.

None of them carries what you wrote, said or made: never a prompt, a message, a name, a file or a picture.

Signed-in use is linked to an internal account identifier. These are never sent:

  • your name or email address;
  • anything typed into forms;
  • request contents;
  • query strings, fragments or referrers.

PostHog is set not to keep the client IP address.

The app does not store telemetry state in cookies or local storage. Page clicks, session recordings, heatmaps and surveys are not collected.
