Usage and prices
What making images and videos costs, the price shown before you send, the usage each plan includes, what rolls over, what each Space spent, and the storage each plan includes.
Making an image or a video has a price in US dollars. It comes out of the usage your Workspace has, which comes with its plan.
The price before you send
The price of what you are about to make is shown beside the Assistant’s send button, for the model it will use and what your prompt is sent with. It changes when you choose another model, switch between Image and Video, or add or remove the images it works from. In the image editor, a change is priced at the image’s own resolution: changing an image about 2K wide costs 2K’s price. For a model with quality tiers (such as GPT Image 2.5), the price is for the tier you choose in Settings, and each image it is sent with adds a little. Talking with the Assistant in Ask is free and uses none of your usage (up to 300 messages a day); what it makes for you is priced and charged like anything you make yourself (see Talking with the Assistant).
- $0.15 is what it costs.
- up to $0.02 is the most it can cost. Some models are priced by the size of what they make, so the charge is worked out from the result, and never more than shown.
- Included · 12 left today is an Explore image your plan includes: it costs nothing, and 12 more are included today. On Studio it says Included.
If something can’t be made, it costs nothing, and trying it again is priced on its own.
Your usage
Each plan comes with its own usage:
- Free: a one-off $5 to start, once per account, with the first Workspace you own. It doesn’t reset each month.
- Starter: $10 every month, from the day you subscribe, renewing on that date each month whichever way you pay.
- Pro: $25 every month for each of its seats, in one shared pool: a Pro Workspace with 3 seats has $75 a month between them.
- Studio: $45 every month for each of its seats, in one shared pool: a Studio Workspace with 5 seats has $225 a month between them.
A seat added during the month adds its usage for the days left in it, straight away; from the next month it adds its full usage (see Seats). Workspaces that bought Pro or Studio before 1 November 2026 keep the usage they bought: $25 a month on that Pro, $30 a seat on that Studio.
A new month’s usage arrives once its renewal is paid. If the payment fails, the month’s included usage waits until it goes through: Usage says so, and anything else the Workspace has (rolled over, bought or given) still works. See If a payment fails.
Rollover
On Pro and Studio, included usage you don’t use in a month rolls over:
- Pro: what’s left at the end of a month carries into the next month, and ends with it.
- Studio: what’s left carries over for two months: into the next month and the one after.
- Free and Starter have no rollover, nor do Pro and Studio bought before 1 November 2026.
Rolled-over usage shows in Usage as Rolled over from last month, with the date it ends. It’s used first, before the month’s own usage, because it ends first. Only a month’s own included usage rolls over: usage that rolled over once never rolls over again, and usage you bought or were given never needs to.
If you move to a lower plan, usage that already rolled over keeps its end date, and the lower plan’s rollover applies from then (none on Starter). If the paid plan ends, what rolled over ends with it; usage you bought stays. Whatever you make in a Space is counted against that Space’s Workspace. What you make in your Drafts is counted against the Workspace you’re working in (a Guest can’t make images or videos in Drafts there).
Select the Workspace at the top of the sidebar and choose Workspace settings, then Usage, to see how much of the month’s allowance remains, how much is used and when it renews. Images and videos still being made count as used until they finish. Plan there shows the Workspace’s plan.
What free usage covers
Free’s usage to start, and any promotional usage, pays for the standard models: any image, and a short video from Seedance 2.0 Fast, MiniMax H3 Turbo or Wan 3. It doesn’t pay for:
- premium models (Nano Banana Pro, Seedance 2.0, MiniMax H3 Max, Kling 3 and Kling 3 Pro, and video editing, upscaling and background removal);
- any single image or video that costs more than $0.60;
- more than $3 in one day.
Usage you pay for, from a plan or added, covers everything. When free usage can’t pay for something, the Assistant says why and what you can do: choose a standard model, make a shorter or smaller version, wait until tomorrow, or upgrade.
Explore
Explore is quick drafts with FLUX.1 Schnell: an image of about a megapixel (1024 × 1024, or the same area at another shape), from words or from one image. Choose it in Settings, or type --model explore. Every plan includes some Explore images each day, which use none of your usage:
| Free | Starter | Pro | Studio | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Explore images included | 20 a day | 50 a day | 100 a day for each seat | Unlimited, under fair use |
- A day runs from 00:00 to 24:00 UTC. On Free and Starter the images are the Workspace’s; on Pro each seat adds 100 to one daily pool the whole Workspace shares (a 3-seat Pro has 300 a day).
- Beyond the day’s included images, Explore images on Free, Starter and Pro come out of your usage at Explore’s price, $0.0018 an image: the price beside the send button says so.
- On Studio, Explore is never charged. Its fair use: each editor can make up to 2 Explore images at once and up to 200 an hour. It’s for people, not automation, and unusually high volumes may be reviewed. Past the hourly limit, Explore says so and asks you to wait or choose another model; it never switches to a paid model for you.
- An Explore image that fails or is cancelled isn’t counted.
- If Explore is busy beyond what we can serve in a day, it pauses until the next day and says so. Every other model carries on as usual.
Limits
To keep Otherspace fast and fair for everyone, a Workspace makes a set number of things at once: one on Free, two on Starter, and three for each seat on Pro and Studio. Anything more starts as soon as one finishes. Anyone can ask for up to 10 in a minute.
Storage
Each plan includes storage for everything the Workspace keeps:
- Free: 2 GB.
- Starter: 25 GB.
- Pro: 100 GB for each of its seats, in one shared pool: a Pro Workspace with 3 seats has 300 GB.
- Studio: 250 GB for each of its seats, in one shared pool: a Studio Workspace with 2 seats has 500 GB.
Workspaces that bought Pro or Studio before 1 November 2026 have no set storage limit. Storage is counted in decimal units: a GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes.
What counts: the images and videos you upload, the ones you make, and every earlier version of each. Something in Trash counts until it’s removed for good, 30 days after it was deleted. A duplicate shares its original’s stored file, so it adds nothing; a copy taken into another Workspace counts there too. Previews (thumbnails, posters and video scrubbing) and the image editor’s working renders don’t count. Like spending, what you make or upload in your Drafts counts towards the Workspace you’re working in when you make it.
Usage in Settings shows how much the Workspace stores, of what its plan includes, with a bar. From 80% it says it’s nearly full.
When it’s full, nothing is ever deleted. New uploads and new images and videos are paused, saying: “This Workspace is using 25 GB of its 25 GB storage. Empty Trash or remove assets to make room, or choose a larger plan.” Everything already there stays: you can still view, edit, export and download it. To make room, empty Trash or remove assets you don’t need, or move to a plan with more storage, or add seats on Pro or Studio. An upload already on its way when the Workspace fills is kept, so it can go slightly over.
What each Space spent
Usage also shows the Workspace’s AI spend for a usage period: what images and videos made in it have cost. A usage period runs from the Workspace’s renewal date, the moment its plan was bought, to the same moment a month on: bought at 14:30 UTC on 17 Sep, its periods read “17 Sep, 14:30 – 17 Oct 2026, 14:30 UTC”, so it’s always clear which period something made that day belongs to. A Workspace with no renewal date has calendar months, which read by their days (“1 Oct – 31 Oct 2026”), as custom ranges do. Anything still being made is shown apart, as In progress, at the price shown before it was sent, until it finishes; it’s never counted in AI spend.
Use ‹ and › to go back through earlier usage periods and forward again, or Custom range to choose any From and To days, then Apply. Usage periods goes back to the periods. Spend counts on the day it was asked for. Days are in UTC. What you’re looking at stays in the address, so a reload, Back and Forward, or a link, show the same report.
The Workspace’s Owner and Admins also see it By Space, in a table: each Space, then Drafts (made in Drafts while working in this Workspace) and Deleted Spaces (Spaces since deleted for good), with Image generation, Image edits, Video and Total. A Space in Trash keeps its name, marked In Trash. Choose a column’s name to sort by it, or type in Filter Spaces to find one. Choose a Space to see what it was spent on in the same period or range; All Spaces goes back. Everything adds up: each Space’s lines to its total, and every Space’s total to the Workspace’s.
The Workspace pays for all of it, from one allowance: a Space has no budget or allowance of its own, and is only where something was spent. A Space’s own menu (… beside its name) shows its spend this usage period to the Owner and Admins, with View usage details. Members see the Workspace’s total only. Guests don’t see spend.
Exporting a report
Export PDF downloads exactly what Usage is showing, as a PDF: the Workspace, the usage period or custom range, when it was made, the AI spend and what’s in progress, and, for the Owner and Admins, every Space, Drafts and Deleted Spaces by type. From a Space’s detail, it’s that Space’s report alone. A Member’s report has the Workspace’s totals only. Its pages fit A4 and Letter alike.
Names print as written in Latin (including accented and extended Latin), Greek and Cyrillic. Emoji and other scripts, such as Chinese, Japanese or Korean, print as a replacement mark () for now.
Usage beyond the month
Your Workspace can also have usage that isn’t part of a month’s allowance, such as Free’s usage to start, or promotional usage we give you. Each shows in Usage with what’s left of it and, if it has one, the date it ends. It doesn’t reset each month.
Making something uses rolled-over usage first, then the month’s included usage, then usage that ends soonest, then the rest, with usage you bought last. So nothing is lost to an end date while other usage is still there.
When everything is used up, the Assistant says so and doesn’t start anything new until there’s usage again: on Starter, Pro or Studio, when the month resets, or when you add usage. Free’s usage doesn’t reset each month.
Adding usage
On any plan, the Workspace’s Owner can buy more usage in Settings › Usage: choose Add $10, Add $25, Add $50 or Add $100. You go to Stripe’s secure checkout to pay by card, then come back to Usage, where it shows as Purchased usage, with a message saying $25.00 of usage added. Cancel at checkout, and you’re back in Usage with nothing charged.
Usage you buy never expires and doesn’t reset each month. It’s spent after the month’s included usage and any usage with an end date. Anyone else in the Workspace sees “Only the Workspace’s Owner can add usage.”
If a payment for usage you bought is refunded, or disputed with your bank, the part of it you haven’t used is removed from the Workspace; what you’ve already used stays used. If a dispute is decided in our favour, it’s given back.
